Join us on WhatsApp!
Thanks for your interest in joining our world-renowned WhatsApp Communities! We have one community dedicated to sharing general opportunities, and opportunities specific to each Hub. And we have another community dedicated to coordination and knowledge sharing for climate events.
Through these groups, you will be able to network, ask questions, find collaborators, and share knowledge and opportunities with each other.
Our WhatsApp Communities are open to all youth, ages 13-35.
Steps:
Request to join our Community.
Join location specific Hubs. Join event specific groups. Please only join the groups that are applicable to you. For example, if you live in Philadelphia, do not join the Kenya Hub, and if you will not be attending the UN Ocean Conference, do not join the group for it.

Community Guidelines
Thank you for being a member of the Youth Climate Collaborative WhatsApp Communities!
The WhatsApp Communities are a space for anyone ages 13 to 35 to connect, coordinate, collaborate, and share knowledge for place-based action, as well as before and during key climate events, and to help keep each other safe and to feel supported. To ensure this is a comfortable and safe community for everyone, we have a few guidelines that we ask all members to follow.
Self-Service
The WhatsApp Communities are a free offering that is run by our Executive Director, Pooja Tilvawala, and it is not possible for her to manage this full time. We ask members to be resourceful in finding answers to their questions when possible, and to be patient with her when she cannot provide immediate support.
Please refer to these Guidelines and FAQs if you have any questions.
Any general WhatsApp user issues should be handled by visiting the WhatsApp Help Center.
Be Engaged
We aim for our Communities to be active and engaged in order to bring real value to all members.
This starts with you: sharing opportunities and tips, networking with event attendees, answering questions, and making requests of other members. A balance of giving and taking/asks and offers will help our Communities thrive.
Your participation makes our Communities better and stronger, and you are encouraged to stay active and engaged as much as you’d like.
Share Accurate Information
Our Communities are built on our mutual trust that we share helpful and real information.
Please ensure that any events, tips, or related information shared are accurate to the best of your knowledge so we can maintain safe Communities.
Avoid Self-Promotion
In order to help keep content timely and relevant to the conference taking place, please avoid self-promotion in any WhatsApp event groups. Use the hubs chats, when appropriate, for self-promotion.
Be Inclusive
Be kind to one another, use inclusive vocabulary where possible, and be open to hearing about new opportunities and tips.
Generally speaking, this means refraining from derogatory language related to elements of individual’s identities including, but not limited to gender(s), sexual orientation or preference(s), physical or mental dis/ability, race, religion, as well as life choices including those of financial, employment, or health-related nature.
Be Respectful
Discuss and debate constructively. No name-calling or mean-spirited comments. We have a zero tolerance policy for hate, and you will be removed immediately for any hateful messages.
Respect the privacy and personal space of your fellow Community members. Unless you have a prior personal relationship with another member or their express permission, you may not send Direct Messages to them or share their contact information with an outside party without first receiving their permission.
Violation of the privacy and personal space of other members may result in removal from our Communities.
Be Appropriate
Please consider this space may be used by people of varying ages and backgrounds, and keep content to a semi-professional tone.
No explicit images or graphic language. Mocking and harassment will not be tolerated.
Violations of Community Guidelines
By joining a Youth Climate Collaborative WhatsApp Community, you are consenting to abide by these guidelines.
WhatsApp admins reserve the right to delete any post, or remove any member of the community for violating these Community Guidelines.
In the case someone violates the Community Guidelines, but it is likely coming from a place of ignorance rather than malice, one of our WhatsApp admins will send them a direct message requesting that they adjust their behavior and/or remove their message(s).
Reporting Abuse
Please DM Pooja Tilvawala or email team@youthcc.org to report any violations of the Community Guidelines that you feel violate your privacy or create an unwelcoming and/or exclusive community environment.
